I want to put a plug in for the town's highway department. This year we have been bombarded with snowstorms one after another- not in lazy little snowstorms that came once in a while. It hasn't been easy on parents, teachers and students to have school cancelled school or have a delayed opening. In the meantime, the one thing we have been able to count on is our town snow removal crew under Craig Sykes and the Department of Public Works under Steve Brewer. When we get to school, the parking lots are clear, the roadway is sanded, and all of our staff, parents and students are able to safely come onto the school grounds.
Of course, our school staff has been on top of the areas directly around the schools- Michol Greenwood has stayed up all night to make sure the walkways and doorways are clear, and Todd Ledoux, our Facilities Director, ensures that all of the snow removal is completed on time. If you see Michol, Todd, or one of our town employees, please give them a big, long-overdue, thank you for keeping our schools open and ensuring safety for all.
